London is in chaos is an understatement.
The problem is not that the tube workers are short tempered, or
that London is dangerously overcrowded. The main problem is that
the government does not listen to it's people, it rules over them
like a monarch.
The second problem of note is that the average Londoner
is greedy, easily annoyed, irrational and in agreeance with the
rule that "The Strongest will Survive". I didn't get
annoyed at one bus driver who could not let me on. He had already
broken his manual to try to get as many people to work as he could.
It did not upset me to see tube officers, close the gates and
shout at people who where angry at the lack of the tube service,
but, it really pissed me off when everyone was pushing into queues
pushing school children and old people aside. It frustrated me
when passengers yelled abuse at the driver when he refused to
let people in to the exit door. And it really got me going when
people sitting down would mutter under their breath an insult
to those who where less fortunate than them, but where reacting
in exactly the manner that they had been acting a moment ago.
I do not blame any of these people for their hypocrisy.
I just would like to suggest to the world that, before you go
and lay blame at the feet of others, that, you should take a long
hard look in the mirror and see if you dare throw a stone.
If I can take pride in only one
thing today, I think that it will be that, although I saw and
heard evil all around me, and at times thought some pretty colourful
words, I did not attribute to it.
One down, about 1 billion to go.
