The ultimate art of self-defence |

What is Chinese Kickboxing
Chinese Boxing, commonly known in the West as practical Kung Fu,
is the oldest name used by the Westerners to describe the systematic
and effective Chinese art of self-defence when they encountered,
and were fascinated by, what they saw. With the advent of the
word kickboxing, Chinese Kickboxing rather than Chinese
Boxing has become the preferred terminology. Chinese Kickboxing
is indeed a traditional martial art and not boxing where
two prize-fighters with gloves and in shorts are fighting in a
ring.
The aim of Chinese Kickboxing is to progressively train your body
as well as your mind to achieve positive health and to acquire
effective skill to defend yourself successfully at all times.
Chinese Kickboxing is the art of total self-defence.
Training with various weapons will be taught only to the more
advanced students who have already acquired a solid grounding.
History
Chinese Kickboxing had been practised by the Chinese for many
thousands of years and was the result of the wisdom of the ancient
Chinese to react, in the main, to vital military and serious survival
requi rements at that time. Many temples in China, including the
famous Shaolin Temple, had played a part in the development and
spreading of Chinese Kickboxing, which is the forerunner of all
other forms of ma rtial arts in the East.
Advantages
Chinese Kickboxing can be safely and enjoyably practised by men
and women, young and old. Chinese Kickboxing:
- is an unsurpassed method of complete self-defence
- has proven to be an extremely effective form of total fitness
training
- provides a remarkably easy way of achieving personal confidence
- is an extremely exciting sport, whether or not you choose
to enter competitions
- converts your hidden physical and mental might into anunstoppable
force for self-defence.
Beginners
Beginners are most welcome. Whenever you are ready to start, there
is always a beginners' course available each week. You will find
the training challenging, exciting and enjoyable; before long,
you will be amazed at your progress under proper guidance and
you wish you had started sooner. You will make a lot of friends
too. Give it a go. Very often, making up your mind is indeed much
more difficult that the actual training itself.
